We would like to inform you that effective 1 March, 2012 Maersk Line will increase the rates on the Far East - Europe (North Europe, Mediterranean and Black Sea) trade by USD 775/TEU.
Scope: The GRI will apply to all dry and reefer cargo moving from all Far East ports to all destinations in Europe (North Europe, Mediterranean and Black Sea).

Peak Season Surcharge [PSS]
Far East to Black Sea, Mediterranean, North Europe
The prevalent freight rates in the container market from Far East to Black Sea, Mediterranean, North Europe are un-sustainable and lead to a financially unviable situation for the industry.
On this basis, Maersk Line will be applying a Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) as follows, effective from 26-December-2011:
From Asia to North Europe/Mediterranean:
USD200/20’ dry/reef container
USD400/40`, 45` dry/reef containers

Rate Restoration Initiative Asia to Europe
In order to continue offering our broad portfolio of services and high level of reliability, it will be necessary for us to implement a Rate Restoration Initiative (RRI).
Maersk Line will therefore be applying a Rate Restoration Initiative of USD250/teu effective on 1st June 2011.
The Rate Restoration Initiative (RRI) will apply to all dry and reefer cargo moving from all Asian ports to all destinations in North Europe and the Mediterranean.
